Annoyed Angels and Phoenixes

I’m sure I’ve mentioned the Angelyarns knitting forum on my blog before.

I have spent a lot of time posting there and made some good friends.  It has been a valuable resource for me – friendly, funny and full of knowledgeable people who were happy to help.

The bad news is that this forum has been taken offline with no warning, not even to the Moderators who put in heaps of their time. 👿

Gone.

I don’t know why it has gone or what happened – there is a good deal of speculation which I’m not about to enter into here. There is some pretty un-angelic feeling regarding the way this has happened out there in the interweb though.

The good news is that it’s the foum members that really make a forum – not the people who own the domain.

Some of the hacked off Angels have swiftly set up a new forum – absolutely nothing to do with the old forum or the associated shop.

We’re trying to reach out and find all the lost forum members and get back together on-line – hence this post – I know some of the forumites read my blog!

All disenfranchised Angels (and anyone looking for a friendly knitting forum) are welcome at the new Phoenix Knitting forum.  <-click here to go there!

I’ll be hanging out there as the super-imaginatively named “SusanCrowe”…

…must think of a better name!

When I joined Ravelry, I decided to have a much more interesting name, so I picked Carenza (after the archaeologist on Timeteam). If only my parents had had a bit more imagination than naming me after my Aunt!

I think perhaps ex angels (Devils??) will have a much better chance of sticking together in a Ravelry group.

Personally, I am still waiting for a pair of circular needles that I had on order at Angel Yarns from about Winter 2006/2007!
