How gorgeous. I love necks like that. Siesta by Carol Feller (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/siesta), has a lovely cable split neck like that. Enjoy the rest of the holiday.

Happy Easter to all – hope Mewsley is enjoying the sunshine. Fab project – I’ve had this pattern for ages – I’m now inspired to have a go at it!

Hi – The cable sweater looks gorgeous so far. It is going to look very fresh and cool with the upcoming seasons white linen. Now can you tell me what you do at the start of a row? Do you knit (or purl) the first stitch or slip it to keep a neat edge?

    Hi Susan,

Hope you don’t mind me contacting you, but I thought you might be interested in a knitting project we are working on with VisitGuernsey.

It’s all about reviving the tradition of families having their own unique patterns for guernsey jumpers. You can find more information here: http://blog.visitguernsey.com/blog/i-knit-guernsey-the-knitting-competition-to-revive-the-guernsey-family-patterns/

We also have the knitting pattern design written down by the Guernsey WI in 1955 for download here (before that it was passed down by word of mouth): http://blog.visitguernsey.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/WI-Pattern-1955-2.pdf

    We’d love you to enter!

    All the best,

    Rebecca

Susan, it looks lovely. But I think you should get another cat; Mewsly looks lonely in the previous post. There are so many cats that need the good home and love you can provide.

Hi Susan, I was sitting next to you on the train from Birmingham to London! You were knitting socks. I knew you were good but your work here is quite amazing. I wish we’d have started talking earlier instead of when we were coming into Euston Station. Brilliant work. Well done.

    Graham
