Oh, I’m welling up reading this. I’m so sorry for your loss. We lost our older dog – Miffy – in December and so I know what a horrible decision it is to have to make.

I’m so sorry, she was a beautiful girl. At least she had a lovely cushion for her last few weeks. I’ll miss hearing about her.

As I read the first paragraph My first thought was ‘oh no’. So very sorry for you and Ben, the house must feel so empty. Mewsley and Thug have been my favourite internet felines x

So sorry that you’ve lost a much-beloved pet. How brave and how terrible to have to make the decision to say goodbye before Mewsley suffered more.

I am so sorry about Mewsley, I do enjoy looking at your photos and these are a lovely tribute. We lost out much loved West Highland Terrier, Gracie, on 7th Jan, she was 16 years and 8 weeks old and we are heartbroken. I shall be thinking of you both knowing you are going through the same grief as we are.

I’m so sad to hear about Mewsley. Thanks for sharing your pictures and memories with us. Nineteen is a good long time to have a cat, but it does fly by and I can see that it seems too soon for her to go! Just like Thug, we know how loved she was. Wishing you both some comfort during this tough time.

Oh dear, I’d guessed something dreadful had happened because you’d been so quiet. I’m so sorry – I’ve only recently found your blog but have really enjoyed reading your posts and seeing your photos and, of course, Mewsley was a big part of that. She was obviously much loved and the photos show her living a happy, loving life so you did a good job there. She will leave a big gap in your lives but that shows how very loved she was. Commiserations to you both.

Oh Susan, so, so sorry to hear your sad news. Sending much love to you and Ben. I’m sure that Mewlsey and Thug are playing together (maybe the odd swipe too!) You gave them both a wonderful life.

My 17-year-old Barney had been coping with kidney failure, then took a turn and stopped eating a week ago today. Took him in on Monday only to be advised he was anemic and in heart failure, and so we said goodbye. He was the best, best boy, and I miss him so much. Now there’s a gaping hole in my house, and in my heart. I know what you’re going through, and I wish you well.

    Virtual hugs,

    Jan

Oh I’m so sorry to hear about Mewsley. I’ve enjoyed your photos and stories of the cats almost as much as your knitting. I too have furry friends who snuggle near my yarn projects and they’re such good company. She had a wonderful and long life with you.

Unfortunately in a short time period I find myself once again offering my condolences. I am so sorry for the loss of Mewsley. I felt like I knew both Mewsley and Thug. Please accept my sympathy.

So very sorry to hear about Mewsley … it’s always so hard to have to let them go – I know, having gone through it so many times over the years. She was a truly beautiful cat who will always be part of you. You’ve given her the very best life a cat could wish for and you did the kindest thing possible in letting her slip away peacefully and without pain. Take care xx
