I love the shawl! The colours are beautiful and contrast and complement one another so well. Good choice! I love Veeta Valimaki’s designs – I have yarn stashed for Colour Affection!

    Gorgeous!

Just think…knitting will be even nicer once the yak shaving is done…

Glad to see you’ve posted again and the latest project is very lovely. But, hmm, how can I put this, is that some of the variegated hand dyed yarn you hate so much there? (Much much better use of it that the flayed flesh jumper)

I’m another fan of Veera’s designs, Color Affection is waiting to be knit. Glad to hear the cats are settling – we need more photos!!

I think also that having it on a non fitted garment, like a shawl, is different to a jumper maybe? And mixing with a plain stripe – that you’ve chosen to tone so well, maybe makes a difference too. Plus I’m not convinced by varigation and texture (didn’t the flayed flesh jumper have little holes in?) – too busy.

But I must confess that blues/green are more my colours than pinks and I’m a bit of a succer for a scarf type thing, so I’m very biased.

I also have been seduced and disappointed by variagated yarn btw.

Thanks for the intro to the term “Yak Shaving” – I think it might well sum up my life (perhaps I could have ‘Dun Yakshaving’ on my tombstone in the manner of Spike Milligan’s “told you I was ill”)? Lovely blog and superb knits, great to see freedom and expression in your use of colours – lovely! x

The contrasting colours look lovely together.

Sounds like it’s been quite a time for you at the mo! Hope everything settles down and you enjoy your room when it’s finished.
