So Heligan is at the “reknit the top of the sleeve and sew it up” stage – not my most favorite part….
And I have sumptuous new projects begging to be started from Ally Pally…
And I a weak and weary from fighting off this stupid cough/cold/flu/bronchitis type thing…
So have I diligently finished Heligan? Erm No… I have sinned and started a second WIP! 😯
I have started the Icon dress!!
“I’ll just do a tension square”, I said (Yes I know!! I really did a proper tension square – it must be love!!)
Then I did a second on on bigger needles to confirm I’d get the gauge! I had to go from the 4mm given up to 4.5mm to get gauge – getting old is making my knitting tighter!
“I’ll just cast on and do that pretty hem on the train”, I said
It’s a lovely design touch – few rows, some eyelet holes, few more rows then fold along the eyelets and pick up the stitches – gives a pretty scalloped and firm edge 🙂

“Oh, I’ll just get the pattern set and write out the rows”, I told myself
The front of Icon was getting going…

“I must finish Heligan”, I said. She was laid out on the table and and some work was done….
Too late – I was storming along with Icon – the skirt is a surprisingly easy knit – cables, purls either side and blocks of moss stitch every so many rows you decrease either side of the moss stitch blocks loosing a whopping 8 stitches a row – it feels like you are accelerating towards the bodice!
This is how far I have got – to the waist – all going well so far 🙂

And Heligan? I wasn’t the only one being bad with Heligan – Kitty was severely chastised!
