The scarf is lovely, Susan. Perfect for the winter, and an interesting pattern to knit. Just don’t wear it with anything black πŸ™‚
I do think you could have made it in more of a square shape, though, it would be far more suitable as a blanket in that shape. Blanket? Thug and Mewslie know what I mean…

The scarf is really gorgeous. You can see just how soft and snuggly it is from the photos. It almost makes me long for a cold winter’s day to wear it! I’d love to make one for me. I looked up the pattern book online and it was pretty pricey – about Β£16 I think! Are there lots of other nice things in there to knit? Not sure I could justify the expense otherwise!

    Hi Josiekitten

Is the Heartfelt Pattern book worth it? I think so. I do buy more pattern books than I use but this one is special and not just because it was a prezzie from Ben.

It helps that I know Kim Hargreaves’ designs fit me well. She pays attention to shaping so you don’t end up with the “knitted sack” look some designers like.

Haven is the second thing I’ve made from this book. Cherish was the first – here:-
    https://susancrowe.co.uk/2008/01/14/swamp-donkey-and-cherish/

And I’ve just cast on a third item and have the yarn for a fourth – I think that’s a record for me from one book so I guess that’s a recommendation!

Are you on Ravelry? If not why not?? If you are, you can see all the designs and look at how real people made them on this page:-
    http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/heartfelt—the-dark-house-collection/patterns

Or take a look on Kim’s site at all the pattern – pictures from the book…

See if you like the designs??

I really think I should be on commission from Rowan and Kim Hargreaves!!

    Hope that helps

    Susan
PS you asked about Cocoon – it’s 80% merino wool, 20% kid mohair in on loosely spun thick strand.

Hi Susan, I love your blog and especially seeing your cats enjoy your work! I am not actually a knitter, yet, but having been inspired I’m going to have a go. I’m writing an essay for my College work on why people knit in groups, which is why I’m looking at knitting sites, but after discovering knit bloggers, I’m thinking I may try and include something about knit blogging. It seems like there is a big knitting community out there. I wonder if knit blogging will take over from knit groups….Anyway, I enjoyed your blog! Natalie

Got the wool, got the pattern, got the needles – and I’m holding you and the cats fully responsible! Am planning to take it on holiday at half term, so with a bit of luck I shall be able to post a picture in my blog at the start of November!

Looks wonderful. I just brought this pattern last night with the yarn. One question for you. How did you slip the stitches on the end? I am having a problem with this.
