I had forgotten that last new year, the Guilty Knitters and I had made knitting resolutions. And that Jane had written them down. (Damn her!)
We had much hilarity, thanks to Jane’s careful note taking, rediscovering these knitterly resolution and admitting by how much we had each succeeded or failed.
My resolution had been to get back down to one WIP at a time. Hmmm……
Actually, I hadn’t done too badly! Now that Flag was finished, I had just one thing one the needles…My See-Through top.
I blogged it here when I started… “Knit Blogger’s Block”
I started this project back in February 2009 and somehow always put it aside in favour of more exciting knits. I have no idea why I kept putting it aside. It’s an easy stocking stitch knit in two different yarns?? Who can fathom the mind of a rabid knitter?
It actually only had a sleeve and a half to do so, a month late for my resolution, I’ve finished! No more WIPS shouting at me from the Knit-Room! I feel somehow, “lighter”.
This was the Rowan piccy…

I had decided to knit it in black, using black Kidsilk Aura and sparkly, black Kidsilk Night for the see-though bits…
Enough text – want to see it?
From See Though |
It has really turned out well! And quite dressy 🙂
Here’s a shot where I don’t look ready to chastise someone…

And a close up of the neckline (and my rather fab necklace!)…
From See Though |
I’m wearing a bright red vest under it for these shots, to try and show the contrast…and to avoid the “flash-induced transparency issues” experienced by Vivian Westwood in the NSFW picture in my earlier post about this project (Seriously – not while eating!!)
I love the combo of KSH and Aura – This is surprisingly warm, fluffy and snugly to wear without being bulky.
I think this will suitable for work too, dressed down of course.
I have got double duty out of the first photo too…I’ve just finished making those curtains behind me for the knit room 😀 Do you like them?
Here’s a better shot…
From Knit-Room |
They are fully lined with blackout lining and have the cute eyelet header…

Once the curtains were done, I just had to find the perfect lampshade…harder than you think for a Knit-Room.
Then I saw this in Homebase – the perfect messy ball of yarn lampshade!!

So the Knit-Room is officially finished, and I have no more WIPS……………
………………………So what now?………………….
…………………And what are THIS year’s resolutions?!!
This year’s resolution is challenging and drew gasps from the Guilty Knitters….
I resolve to knit up all the yarn I bought in the January sales, including the beautiful cashmere I have just bought!!

But what to knit first…??

Wow, I bow down to your strength of will. No more WIPs how is this done. I don’t think I’ll ever have only one project on the go at once. I just can’t do it. Though I think I will have to at least attempt to join you on the knitting all my January Sales yarn. I bought far too much of it. I don’t think it will fit in the stash boxes, and I refuse to buy more because four huge boxes should be enough for anyone surely?
Very nice indeed. Perfect for work and play.
Love the glittery top – it does look dressy – and the knit room, very apt light shade! You got some cashmere! I was so tempted in Liberty’s sale but resisted, where did you get it??? No, don’t tell me, I can’t!
Yeah, right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, I’ll be full of awe and admiration if you do! Love the jumper – just the right amount of sparkle!
I Love your see-through top 🙂 The cashmere looks beautiful; looking forward to seeing what you’re going to knit with it. Cute lampshade!
Must admit found a few WIP’s yeasterday while looking for my Knitting Nancy for my ‘honourary’ grand-daughter and thought ‘I had better finish them soon’. But there again got a wool voucher for Christmas I need to spend too. Difficult to know what to do.
love the jumper and the retro curtains.

I love it. It’s nicer in black than the grey in the Rowan picture. That lampshade was a great find for your knit room.
What no wips!? Glad I didn’t make that res I would be failing miserably as I cast on something else earlier. I love the black top very sophisticated. That really is a lovely green in the cashmere what are you going to make with it?
