Love My Advent Sorrel
Oh My! I really love this Advent Sorrel even more now it’s finished 😍 She is warm and soft and perfect for an English mid-summer (which is very cold this year). It took 3 different skeins of green to finish the sleeves (Which look a little long in this picture??). I managed to bend all […]
First Sorrel
I promised to show you my first Sorrel, made with Yarn for the Soul’s light fingering in 2021. Fell in love with the “Midnight is a Lonely Place” colourway as it reminded me of Van Gogh’s Starry Night (just been to an immersive Van Gogh exhibition!!) – Can you see what I was seeing? Most […]
After the Rain – Love it!
I finished After the Rain a couple of weeks ago – Oh Wow do I love that yoke pattern! … but I only got around to doing the obligatory photo shoot today – Bad Susan! I won’t tease you – here she is… Last time I spoke to you I’d just started the yoke pattern […]
Jelly Roll Fever
I contracted Jelly Roll fever in summer 2021. It took eight pairs of socks and a year of fun to beat my obsession with these cute little socks into remission. I still fear for the safety of my sock yarn stash. I may relapse at any time.
Misurina Done!
Once I had finished the fairisle yoke, Misurina was finished at great speed! So happy! 😍 I won’t make you wait for a photo 🙂 I am very, very pleased with her. My fears about the fairisle pattern not showing up in the cream were unfounded – I love these colours – I think the […]
On The Hook
“What’s on the needles now?”, I hear you cry! Erm actually it’s “on the hook” – Crochet hook that is. I’ve got a little Hat Crazy the last couple of weeks – it started with this! The Rowan Margarida Hat in Rowan Cotton Glace (or Handknit Cotton.) I knew I had a bag of left […]
Rocking Those Stripes
Here’s a FO that has just flown off the needles – The Rock It tee by Tanis Lavallee I’m so happy with this! I’ll show you my FO first… I fell in love with this at the Unravel Yarn Festival at Farnham Maltings in Surrey in February. Unravel is a wonderful yarn fest on independent […]
Sea Glass Sweater
I definitely owe you some knitting eyecandy 😀 How about this? This is the fabulous Sea Glass Sweater by Wool & Pine. Made between Jan and March 2022. It is a wonderfully inventive top down pattern made entirely of 1×1 fairisle, changing both colours every row. It’s intended as a stashbuster to use up all […]
I’m Back! …But Why Did I Stop Blogging?
4 years ago I suddenly stopped blogging after 10 years of sharing my knitting exploits. I really hope I still have some followers out there! Long story, cut very short – I had a stroke – and that really messed up my knitting and ability to blog. The good news is I’m 95% recovered now […]
I do that too. I always put a stitch marker at my wrap and turns or I'd never recognize when…
What a beauty, I love it. As someone who also indulges in a little light trafficking , there is no…
It's beautiful. What a treasure. We used to smuggle wine/liquors when returning from Europe. Yarn seems much safer.
It's an unusually cold and wet summer here in England. 17C today! Sorrel was very welcome 🙂
Your advent fade really turned out well. I pink and purple one would be beautiful too. I can't imagine wearing…
