Do you remember the string Whale cat toys I made for Ziggy and Kitty ?
These little beasties….
From Kitty & Ziggy |
A friend of ours has a new kitten and I thought I’d make a little whale toy as a gift for the kitten. Ben saw my “gift Whale” and said, “that’s nicer than the ones our cats have! Make some for them too!”
…..So I did….
Here is the Pretty pink whale for our friend’s cat..

Which thankfully I hid from Ziggy and Kitty….
…And here are the two I made for Ziggy and Kitty, 2 days after I gave them to them…
From Successes? |
Mauled, chewed, kicked, bitten and generally savaged to death! Now I remember why I made the last ones out of tough old string!
Here’s the mauled and unmollested whales together so you can see the havoc wrought by fang and claw.. …
From Successes? |
I’m now in counselling and trying hard to take it as a compliment…
So would you call that a knitting success?  Kitty and Ziggy obviously loved  them!

I’d call it a success personally. For me, if I knit something for someone else, success is measured by their enjoyment of it – and those toys look like they have been enjoyed to death đ
I got my cat some leather mice. They are lasting brilliantly and she LOVES them. They are dirt cheap too. I got them from here: http://www.madcats.co.uk/products.php?itemCategory=Cat+Toys+Mice. They are the second pack down. They are out of stock at the moment, but I recommend them highly.
Those toys were truly worth the effort
Yes, an unqualified success! Not a success if they ignored them.
Oh definitely a roaring success Susan!! This post made both me and Mr JK laugh!! I bet they had fun destroying them!
I agree with the others, the cats obviously loved them so I would say it was a success!!
