I finished the Glen Brioche Scarf before I left Malaysia 😀
Here’s the evidence, carelessly draped in a tree on the beach, looking rather like an exotic snake…
I was holding my breath all the way though the final chart – this is why – I had about 2 metres of each colour left over – that was close!
I had been quite confused by how much yarn to buy – 200g in two colours. Is that 200g of each colour or 200g total? I bought 200g of each colour – I used Novita “7 Veljesta” (7 brothers) Aran – fortunately for me this has a whopping 300 meters per ball – most 100g aran doesn’t have that much so I could get the scarf from 1 ball of each colour (yet to decide what to do with the other 2 balls – matching hat maybe? 🙂 )
The pattern has now been clarified – should be 200g of each colour (or about 300 meters of each colour)…
This was the last day of the holiday so I didn’t have time (or the inclination!) to darn in ends and block it until I got home. I was a pretty perfect holiday knit though – small, challenging enough to keep me interested and finished on the beach on the last day 😍
I did get some “beauty shots” on the beach of my completed lovely…
I even have a holiday snap of me wearing it on the beach (apologies for the bikini and the wild hair – snorkeling and a constant warm damp breeze have this effect!
So have I worn the scarf? Did it go the the white jacket it was made to match?
What do you think?
I’ve worn this scarf non-stop since I got home (with the matching jacket). It’s very warm, the right length and gets regular compliments – What more could I ask from a project? 😀
