I’ve just finished this! 😀
I cast on in June 2018 but it has been a background project – this isn’t a six month knit 🙂
Cute, Soft & Fluffy. Great colour. Easy to knit Stocking Stitch.Yarn and pattern in stash…
When I needed a some plain stocking stitch, as a break from other, more complex projects, how could I not knit this?
First the confession – This is made in Rowan Angora Haze😲 🐰 🐇
There has been some negative publicity about cruelty to the rabbits when producing Angora yarns – I suspect that is why Rowan quickly discontinued Angora Haze (December 2013) and replaced it with Mohair Haze (very similar yarn and interchangeable in all the patterns).
It is beautiful yarn and deserves to be worn. I had snapped some up when it had been reduced because of the hasty discontinuance.
I’m probably stomping around a mine-field here but there is more information in very well written and argued blog post here on Love Knitting->> Angora Wool:Is it cruel?
…and a statement on the subject from Rowan about their Angora sources here->> A little bit more information … Angora from a Rabbit
Back to the actual knitting…
This is a very straightforward, easy knit – even the button band is knit in with each front in moss stitch.
See below along with the cute, clear “diamond” buttons 😉
I had to go up 0.5mm needle size but that’s my tight knitting, I think.
It’s knit to the correct length called for in the pattern but a little cropped for me (or my jeans are too low slung!) – another time I’d add an inch to the length.
The yarn is lovely to work with – doesn’t shed as much as some Angoras (I have had to get rid of shop bought Angora because it’s impossible to wear because of the excessive shedding!) This yearn is very soft and I adore that colour.
I like the three quarter length sleeves (I started this in the heat of July remember) will be ideal in the warmer weather for work in the breezy aircon – I’m at a keyboard all day so full length sleeves get worn into holes on the desk!
Look with awe at the sumptuous deep ribbing on hem and cuffs too…
For some reason I managed to put Kitten aside and knit several other things and not buckle down and finish her. This isn’t like me! Well, I’ve done her now and I’m back down to two WIPS – one is a monster you’ve not seen yet <tease, tease>
A couple more self indulgent “look at me in my new knitted thing” piccies and I’m off to the sofa to finish that monster knit 😉
