Last time I told you about Heligan, she had been pushed to one side while I got excited about knitting the Icon dress.
She was in the middle of being sewn up and Kitty was lending a paw…

With the Christmas break (and Kitty’s help) I’ve finished and she is lovely – if a little “springlike” for the current snowy conditions š
Firstly – I have to say what a well thought out and well written pattern this was. I’ve not knit Sasha Kagan before because she mainly does the most beautiful intarsia and I don’t enjoy intarsia. I am hoping she is going to write more patterns using her obvious skills with colour and design that are not intarsia – if she does, I’ll be first in the queue to knit them!
I had sewn the bodyĀ piecesĀ togetherĀ ages ago but I wasĀ procrastinatingĀ the crochet edging – I don’t know why – it wasn’t hard and, with a little guidance from the guilty knitters and severalĀ episodesĀ of “House” on the TV, I finished. I did the edging exactly to the pattern and the fit, I think, is spot on. The only thing I might change if I did it again was the picots for the button holes – a bit tight!! No problem to put and extra chain or two in there if you are sensible enough to test it with the buttons before you finish – guess which idiot didn’t think to do that… š³

At this point Ziggy was getting interested and watching the photo session and feeling a little left out (gratuitousĀ cat shot!)

OK Ziggy – one last shot of you with me wearing Heligan š
