You’ve already seen my fave piccy of me in my Tabby-Cat but it’s as bad as the Rowan Pic for not letting you see the whole garment…

Me vs. Rowan Pattern pic: I’m not as ethereal but the thing in my arms is cuter..
So I’ll show you some of the finished detail then tell you about that Icord gadget 🙂
Better picture where I’m posing with a glass of wine as a prop and you get to see all of the front…
I’m not a drunkard, really…No!!
I love the way the front drapes and falls – it’s actually very flattering (on me anyway!)
This is what the back looks like… (Remeber that the front is half as much again in width so there is a lot of excess fabric to lose)
I like the fit across the shoulders
Of course, you can see the Icord ties there – I’ll come back to how I made them.
Here’s the sleeve detail, same beading around the cuff and slightly wide bell sleeves. This all works really well together for me 🙂
Ohhh – those beads go rather well with my engagement ring…
By now, in the photo shoot, Ziggy was feeling left out…
“Don’t worry Ziggy. Next one will be called “Tortie-Cat”
So what about the Icord gadget?
How did I make these Icords quickly and easily?
Show me the gadget!
I bought one of these on ebay!!
About £8 with postage
This is the gadget that’s inside – essentially it does 4 needles of french knitting automatically by cranking the handle…
The giant peg is weighted to keep the tension on the cord
Here’s some of the Icord I made using a scrap of left over Rowan Siena 4 ply…
Purcey loves “killing” these …
I was going to give you a comprehensive study of the Icord gadget and how to cheat with an electric drill but this lady beat me to it!
Click here to see the review –>> Icord cheating with a drill!
If you’re short of time, skip to 2mins 8 secs to see how this lady uses her power drill – I was gobsmacked 🙂
So I’ll leave you with a completed knit report of my none too Shabby Tabby Cat, then I’ll scuttle off to sew up my Vivaldi!

An Icord machine? Flipping brilliant and clearly the zenith of human ingenuity. And all for the princely sum of £8. Marvellous.
Also, your Tabby Cat is very elegant. I think the neckline is really graceful.
Fantastic! Love the Tabby Cat, looks lovely on you. Do give Ziggy a cuddle from me 🙂
What did you search for on EBay to find that? I spent hours and still couldn’t find one.
Hi Fluzz
I really should have included a link in the post shouldn’t I?
If you search for “Knitting Mill” You’ll get dozens – this one, the prym one and some bigger versions 🙂

Have fun
Susan
So, I struggled on Saturday to teach my grand daughter french knitting and now I find there is a machine………!
Thanks Susan!
I remember many long, mindless hours as a child knitting looooong things by French knitting. It was a great thing to do during school lunchbreak because you could stop whenever.
Another beautiful piece of knitting. I like the beading detail as well.
Love Tabby Cat and the gorgeous Ziggy ^..^
