SKS (Summer Knitting Slump) and the closely related illness SBS (Summer Blogging Slump) have really gotten hold of me this year!
Sorry if I worried anyone – there’s been nothing wrong except upheaval of me changing job and the lovely Ben changing job twice. A lot of new routines and getting used to new stuff.
The good (for me) and bad (for my knitting) part of this is that my train journey is now 30 mins, not 50 mins, and I often don’t get a seat – a lot less commuting knitting from here on.
So what have I been doing all summer?
A huge chunk of my time was crocheting, not knitting. Remember I told you about Janie Crow’s Persian Tile Blanket? I blogged it first here –>> A Persian Adventure
After “production lining” all the elements of the blanket (including these which Ben was convinced were pancakes)
I goit a big heap of completed motifs…
Then to lay them out the crochet together….
Quite a lot of hair pulling, gnashing of teeth, end sewing and careful crocheting together later….I realised there was still the edging to do 😮
Luckily this was quite easy to do…like this….
Want to see the finished blankie in all it’s glory?
Here it is, gracing the sofabed in my knit room…
What does bug me immensely (but not enough to correct it!) is that I rotated the top left and bottom right motifs so the top two shells are “red, orange” not “orange red” – entirely down to me rushing and being careless – bad Susan!
Hmmm – I think this will be my new laptop wallpaper while I catch up with the other bits and bobs I’ve not shown you yet…
I am very pleased with this blanket and thoroughly enjoyed making it – even though it took a while 🙂

Very beautiful susan. ..thought you had disappeared from our knitting world! !
Hi Susan,
Glad to see you back blogging – really missed reading your blog. Your blanket looks lovely.Look forward to hearing what else you’ve been up too.
75% acrylic? Is that a misprint? x
Gorgeous blanket, simply stunning. Those ends must have taken a while so sew in.
