8 years of blogging!!!
I am definitely starting to struggle 🙁 Thank you if you are managing to put up with my infrequent blog posts.
It has been a tough year – loosing Purcey in the summer hit us so hard. Nothing has been right since. My knitting seems to have been up and down too. Gaping necks and wrong tension and frumpy looking items have made an appearance. Even a jumper I loved (the Purl Soho Sweater from my New York trip) got put in the washing machine and tumble dried by my beloved husband – it is now a felted Kitty blanket. My husband may never be forgiven…
Our attempt to kick ourselves back to life with a fabby holiday in Bali – worked (complete with holiday Kitten Scarf knitting adventure)- until a week later when Ben came down hard with the flu which he kindly passed to me for the next 6 weeks! 😮
OK. Enough “Boo Hoo, woe is me” I’m now perfectly set up with excuses for why I have been a delinquent blogger this year 🙁
My blog post rate has been horrid….
- 2014 – 18 Blog Posts
- 2013 – 35 Blog posts
- 2012 – 26 Blog Posts
- 2011 – 30 Blog Posts
- 2010 – 36 Blog Posts
- 2009 – 35 Blog Posts
- 2008 – 69 Blog Posts
- 2007 – 87 Blog Posts
Wasn’t that rubbish? A post and a half a month on average. In my defense – I have made quite a lot of large garments…But I’m amazed you still come and visit – Thank You readers for sticking with me – must do better next year!
Here’s the summary – Click the name of the garment to be taken to the Completed Knit Report – Enjoy 😀

What was it? |
What happened to it? |
Honesty |
Grey and cream stripe cardigan from the wonderful Purl Alpaca | Worn regularly – desired by several of my female work colleagues! |
Flossie
|
Huge, red, chunky roll neck jumper in fisherman’s rib. | Worn a bit when it’s very cold – not been cold enough this year. |
Purl Soho Pullover |
Pale blue funnel neck pullover with yarny souvenir from work trip to New York | Ben put it in the washing machine and tumble dryer and shrank it. I’m still upset at the loss, even after he bought me a lovely replacement jumper! |
Little Red Hat |
Red chunky hat | Doesn’t really suit me – waiting for a very cold spell to wear it. |
Esme |
Cream cable jumper with peplum – based on Icon dress | Loved to bits, worn a lot and much admired. |
Hero Boot Cuffs |
Fun Boot toppers | Worn a lot with boots 🙂 |
Purl Soho Stitch Block Cowl (
|
Super drop stitch pattern cowl | Again, hasn’t really been cold enough – work with my duffle coat though |
Every Day Raglan Linen |
Salmon pink linen sweatshirt | worn a lot in the summer months despite the too wide neck |
Snazzy Yaacov Socks
|
The most crazy and colourful fairisle socks | Worn a lot and loved |
Lorelei |
Grey lace edged cardi | Worn a bit – not so sure she suits me |
Kitten and Stripe Scarf |
Fairisle scarf with colourful rows of kitten heads | A massive fave and worn almost daily – Love this! |
Captivate |
Cropped lace Cardigan in yellow Rowan fine lace and Kidsilk Haze | bbeautifulbut they meant it when they said “cropped”. |
I hope you’ve enjoyed the year with me and will join me for another year of knitting adventure and misadventure 🙂
Your work is fabulous, Susan! Can’t decide which I like best – ‘Esme’, ‘Honesty’ and ‘Kitty’ scarf are my favorites. Oh, and those socks. I’m surprised you managed any blogging at all – or maybe you just don’t sleep? 🙂
Take care
Deborah
I must say I love your blog and all the wonderfull knittin you make. I love ‘honesty’ and ‘flossie’, I just love them!! hugs & kisses.
Glad you’re keeping going, think yours was possibly the first blog I read and is still a favourite so don’t give up!
Happy Blogiversary! I too really enjoy reading your blog and seeing your beautiful knits. They are all stunning but my favourites have to be Captivate and the kitty scarf.
I’ve only just discovered both the joys of knitting and your blog so please don’t stop!! My favourite has to be the captivate cardigan, it’s exactly the kind of thing I love wearing. Happy knitting and blogging for 2015, I look forward to seeing your new projects!
You have knit some beautiful things Susan, and several of them have been quite ‘meaty’! So don’t feel bad. I hope 2015 is a happier one for you and Ben and the girls. I was so, so sad when you told us about Purcey. Animals leave such a hole in our lives. Do keep blogging, pretty please!
Happy Blogiversary!
Your knits are always so beautiful, so it doesn’t matter if you don’t post all that often 🙂
Happy New Year – hope this one’s better for you. Many years ago I binned all my handknits, all my stash and all my patterns and didn’t knit again for about 3 years. By comparison, you’ve been really productive. Love the cropped cardigan.
Happy Blogiversary! I absolutely love your socks and wish I could knit socks like them.
