Here’s a FO that has just flown off the needles – The Rock It tee by Tanis Lavallee
I’m so happy with this! I’ll show you my FO first…
I fell in love with this at the Unravel Yarn Festival at Farnham Maltings in Surrey in February. Unravel is a wonderful yarn fest on independent makers and producers of all things knitterly, crochet, spinning and a few other crafts – (If you missed out there is Unravel Autumn coming up in September π )
I saw the Rock It Tee made up in these colours to showcase the beautiful yarns of Fruitful Fusion, a small hand dyed yarn company. They had only one pack left of the yarns in these colourways in 50g skeins – Ishrat (the Owner) helpfully warned me I’m have half the yarn left over (which I have!) but I had to have it. She was spot on BTW – I used 26g of each colour and 32g of the blue because I did the I-cord edging in it. 188g of yarn if you are looking for a stashbusting idea π

The pattern in knit top down. The start of the yoke knit back and forth to create the V neck, then knit in the round.
There is a cute eyelet detail on the raglans and where the side seam would be…
The original pattern calls for 4 rows of Lace weight mohair held double, alternated with a fingering weight yarn – Here’s the original pattern pic so you can see what I mean…

I just cycled through 4 rows of each of my 7 delicious colours.
There is a very neat I-cord edging too – all around the neck, armholes and hem…

The only problems with the pattern where choosing my size and when I came to the increase round after separating for the sleeves. There are three increase types labelled A, B and C. You perform them at different intervals depending on your size. There are a lot of questions (and helpful answers from Tanis) on the pattern’s Ravelry comments if you are stuck. I just made sure I ended up with the right number of stitches…Any blunders would be in my arm pit – I’m guessing no one will be going there to inspect my knitting!
For the sizing the pattern is in actual measurements and suggests a 6″ (15cm) positive ease. Usually wear a 34″ chest garment so knit the 38″ (4″ ease) cos I don’t like things too roomy. I’m really happy with the fit on me π
A couple of last shots so you can see my Rock It and I’ll give you a Completed Knit Report

Ahhh! Now I understand ! βΊοΈ
This looks great! Congrats on the finish!
I didn’t think I liked the pattern but after seeing yours I’ve added it to my favorites. I will definitely knit with less ease than the pattern calls for. I’m looking for patterns that will let me use up my minis.
I too have this earmarked for minis from an advent calendar from a couple of years ago. It’s very versatile π
I love this one Susan, it looks good on you too. I’m also enjoying your garden. x
Looks fabulous, perfect for miniskeins which I seem to accumulate at rather an alarming rate!
Thanks! I think miniskeins are breeding in my stash – If they mate with the kidsilk Haze I’m in trouble!
