While I’m slogging my way though the Tartan Blanket, Here’s another Purl Alpaca lovely that I completed over a year ago(!) 😮
This is me in Lorelle…
…about to go shopping with a new handbag 🙂
It’s a lovely light, lofty sweater, knit completely in the round from the bottom up. I loved how the two stitch cables worked to form the zigzag details.(I did mine without a cable needle, knitting the 2nd stitch, then the first – purely because it was quicker.)
Here’s a close up of the ziggy-zags…
Zig zags…..
I finished this in December 2015 (yikes!) and wasn’t terribly happy with the way the neck lay on me. The problem was twofold back and front are identical and I have quite a pronounced neck at the front (a doctor once called it a swan neck 🙂 ) which meant it rumpled a bit.
Here’s a pick of the neck rumple that bothered me at the time but I really don’t mind now (and without my hair covering the neck so you can see it)…
and a view of my swan neck (probably a thyroid problem brewing there 🙁
Once I got around to blocking it I found I actually really like Lorelle and have been wearing her a lot!
Lorelle is knit in Purl Alpaca’s “fine” (about 4ply) but on quite large, 5mm needles (I needed to use 5.5mm to get gauge but that’s just my tight knitting). A big advantage of this is that Lorelle only took 6 balls for me 😀
Do you want to see the back – I always have to show you my rear ;)…
I like the length…
This was a quick, easy and rewarding knit – but you should have guessed that -I’m quite a fan of the Purl Alpaca knits!
